About Us
The Kelowna General Hospital Auxiliary was started in 1929 by local women who wanted to improve the comfort and care of patients at the Kelowna General Hospital, affectionately referred to as KGH.
From those humble beginnings, the KGH Auxiliary has grown into a vigorous group of women and men who make up our current Auxiliary membership.
Our Purpose, defined in our Constitution, keeps us focused on our mission:
The primary purpose of the Auxiliary is to add to the comfort and welfare of the patients and residents of Kelowna General Hospital.
To raise funds for such purpose by means acceptable to the KGH Auxiliary and to the
Kelowna General Hospital Foundation.
To foster positive relations between the Hospital and Community.
To carry on educational activities related to the promotion of good health care for its Members and/or Volunteers and the Community as deemed suitable by the Auxiliary. To provide annual bursaries for Youth Volunteers, Candy Stripers/Cadets who are pursuing human health care careers at a post-secondary educational facility.
To assist the Interior Health Authority and Staff as requested.
To operate the Auxiliary Business Venues.
We meet on the 3rd Monday of each month (except July and August) in the Hospital Cafeteria at 7:00 PM. You are welcome to attend our meetings as a guest to learn more about us.
